HOW DO I FIND MY JOYCE ORDER NUMBER?

If you contact us with your authorized dealer, product type, and year, we’ll be able to locate your information.

Window FAQS
ARE YOUR WINDOWS STANDARD SIZE OR CUSTOM TO EACH OPENING?
CAN I CHOOSE DIFFERENT STYLES THAN WHAT I HAVE NOW?
With us being a custom manufacturer, we can make any style to fit your openings if they meet our manufacturing minimum and maximum sizes. An authorized dealer can advise what your options are, or you can contact us directly.
WHAT TYPE OF OPTIONS DO I HAVE?
We offer all the latest trends on the market today. Plated finish hardware, black in/out windows, custom painted exteriors, luxury maintenance free wood grain laminate interiors. Plus, a glass package on every window style to meet Energy Star® requirement anywhere in the US.
WILL NEW WINDOWS REDUCE OR ELIMINATE CONDENSATION?
Add Your Heading Text Here
Condensation happens from excessive moisture inside your home traveling to the coldest parts of your home, which could be your old inefficient windows. With a more efficient window, it may reduce if not eliminate the condensation problem. Please consult your authorized dealer or the factory as homes and previous windows are constructed differently.
WILL NEW WINDOWS PAY FOR THEMSELVES WITH ENERGY SAVINGS?
Most homeowners can expect positive savings from a few years and upwards when you compare increased home value (ROI), savings on utilities, county/utility/federal rebate programs versus the overall cost for material and labor.
DO I NEED A PERMIT WHEN REPLACING MY EXISTING WINDOWS?
It all depends on your city or county who handles the permitting process. Window and door replacement permits are typically straight forward when not modifying the rough opening. Very few building departments require a final inspection at completion.
ARE YOUR WINDOWS FOR REPLACEMENTS OR NEW CONSTRUCTION?
We offer windows for both applications. Our new construction has an option for an integrated nail fin as part of the frame on many collections, or we offer a nail fin adapter that could be used as well. Replacement windows are often commonly used in new construction applications.
CAN I PAINT MY NEW WINDOWS?
We do not recommend this as it will void your warranty. Our internal paint process uses an acrylic coating with built-in heat reflecting pigmented technology specified for vinyl windows. It’s a specialty paint coating not offered in big box stores or on the internet as it’s only meant for fenestration manufacturers.
CAN I CHANGE FROM A HALF SCREEN TO A FULL SCREEN?
Absolutely in almost every scenario. Our system saves every component size and the window we manufacture. Changing to a fully extruded screen may require a snap in adapter. Another option is full Flexscreen® without the need of a snap in adapter.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY WINDOWS INSTALLED?
Most authorized dealers have installed in as short as a day but could go into a few days if not more. It all depends on the size of the project and installation type to your project.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR INSTALLATION?
Most of the work for installations will be done from the inside (in most scenarios), so a clear path is needed. Our authorized dealers typically recommend removing all blinds, furniture, or obstructions in front of your windows.
WHAT IS THE NFRC LABEL AND WHAT DOES IT STAND FOR?
The National Fenestration Rating Council is the governing party to the US Federal government’s Energy Star® program to windows, doors, and skylights. With Joyce being an Energy Star® partner, our products come with a certified NFRC label and its performance ratings.
WHAT DOES THE KEYSTONE CERTIFICATIONS GOLD LABEL MEAN?
Key Laboratories is a third-party governing organization accredited by ANSI that maintains our compliance, quality assurance, quality control, and certifications to our products in accordance with AAMA and/or ANSI standards to meet building codes and energy incentive programs.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTY IS OFFERED?
All of our windows come with a lifetime transferable warranty backed by a family owned and operated company that has been in business for nearly 70 years. Homeowners at time of sale can choose a supplemental “Gold” warranty which also includes accidental glass breakage. See actual warranties for full details.
WHAT TYPE OF MAINTENANCE CAN I EXPECT?
Vinyl easily cleans with mild soap and water. Glass can be cleaned with any over the counter glass specified cleaners (ammonia-free). Please see the maintenance section within our window/patio door warranties for more details.
Sunroom FAQS
WHICH STYLE SUNROOM WILL FIT MY HOME?
Meeting with a trained design professional from our authorized dealer network will best advise style options. Our dealer network is supported with professional engineers on staff that assist in the design process, even if it’s a straight-forward application. Every design is double checked by our engineering department to make sure all design calculation meet ICC (International Code Council) and IRC (International Residential Code), as well as our product specifications.
WHAT CAN A SUNROOM BE USED FOR?
Possibilities are endless. It can be a multifunctional room for many purposes. Or as simple as a leisure or entertainment space. Specific room examples can be a playroom, gym, office, family, garden, or game room. You could also make it as unique as a spa, hot tub, or pool enclosure.
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM A ROOM ADDITION?
The IRC and IECC have different classifications for sunrooms compared to conventional framed wood additions. A sunroom can be used the same as an addition, with or without the same intended use. Joyce offers products to meet Category IV and V sunrooms. Classifications are noted below:
Category IV: A thermally isolated sunroom with enclosed walls. The sunroom is designed to be heated or cooled by a separate temperature control or system and is thermally isolated from the primary structure. The sunroom fenestration complies with additional requirements for water penetration resistance, air infiltration resistance and thermal performance. The space is nonhabitable and conditioned.
Category V: A sunroom with enclosed walls. The sunroom fenestration complies with additional requirements for water penetration resistance, air infiltration resistance and thermal performance. The space is habitable and conditioned.
Ref 2018 IRC: R301.2.1.1.1 Sunrooms.
DO YOU OFFER DIY KITS?
No, every room we manufacture is custom to that home based on dimensions, wall heights, roof pitch, options selected, and more. We only offer our products to an authorized dealer who is trained to properly install our products meeting engineered and designed specifications.
WHAT MATERIALS ARE SUNROOMS MADE FROM?
Our wall structures are clad in vinyl with aluminum structural reinforcements behind engineered to exceed any dead, live, wind, or snow load for your area. Vinyl is virtually maintenance free and the preferred building product of choice in today’s environment due to superior benefits and best-in-class thermal performance. We offer many upgrades and options to increase value with performance compared to other sunrooms on the market. Please consult with an authorized dealer or our customer service to hear more.
CAN YOU HEAT AND COOL YOUR SUNROOM?
Yes, but it’s entirely up to you and your preferred usage. The climate zone you live in may be a deciding factor to the right comfortability.
CAN I HEAT MY SUNROOM USING MY EXISTING FURNACE?
Yes, you can, but we would recommend examining if you’ll be doing a category IV or V sunroom. Also, it may be advised to contact a licensed HVAC professional to do energy calculation when extending the capacity to your heating or air conditioning system.
Most homeowners will opt for a separate HVAC system like a PTAC or mini-split to heat and cool your room on demand when you have a house door you can close off to the sunroom conserving energy.
HOW CAN I GET A SUNROOM DESIGNED AND PRICED FOR MY HOME?
Joyce sunroom products are offered through an authorized dealer network who manage your project from consultation to installation. A dealer design professional can advise you of all your room options, design layout, and pricing. Almost all design consultations across our vast network will be free of charge. Contact us today if you need us to get you in contact with a Joyce authorized dealer in your area.
WHAT'S THE AVERAGE PROJECT DURATION?
Walls with a roof can be constructed in as little as a few days, but on average take 1-2 weeks. The total project duration depends on preparation of the site, dealer finish items, or possibly more items. In every scenario, it’s much faster and quicker to install than a conventional framed addition.
DO YOU OFFER SOLARIUMS, GLASS, OR ACRYLIC ROOF PANELS?
We design, engineer, and manufacture products that are built to last a lifetime, plus stay beautiful year after year. Glass and acrylic roof panels are very high maintenance due to dust and bird debris, offer poor insulation value, and the direct UV exposure to a roof causes glass or acrylic roof panels to have seal failure or discoloration often after a few years. Glass or acrylic roof panels offer the weakest warranty in the fenestration and sunroom industry, and do not meet our company standard for long lasting sustainable products. Which is why it is not in our product offerings.
CAN I INSTALL BLINDS OR CURTAINS IN MY SUNROOM?
Yes absolutely. Please consult your authorized dealer or our customer service team. Depending on the weight of your shade system, you may want to use fasteners long enough to hold onto our vertical aluminum stiffener hidden behind our vinyl post for structural support. But also, be cautious if any electrical wiring is also in that vertical support post as its best to consult a professional.
CAN I INSTALL A FIREPLACE IN MY SUNROOM?
That depends on a couple factors. You need to consider the type of fireplace, how close combustible material can be to it, and if any venting is required. In most situations, you’ll need to have a specially configured wall section framed from wood with non-combustible material surrounding the fireplace until clearance specifications are met according to the fireplace manufacturer.
WHAT TYPE OF FURNITURE CAN I PUT IN MY SUNROOM?
The option is entirely up to you. There are no limitations with the exception to the furniture manufacturer’s warranty if a space is not always conditioned to consistent room temperatures should you heat and cool on demand. Most people will opt for a less for a less than full size recliner or sofa. Instead choosing modern indoor/outdoor furniture that offers just as much comfort taking up less space.
SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT FADING FURNITURE OR ACCESSORIES?
The Smartshield insulated glass we use in our sunrooms blocks out 95% of harmful ultra-violent (UV) and is the most superior coated glass on the market today. Typical glass coatings only block out 50-80% of UV. Any fading or discoloration in a Joyce sunroom should be completely inconspicuous year over year or non-existent.
CAN I USE MY SUNROOM FOR A POOL, HOT TUB, OR GREEN HOUSE?
Absolutely. We’ve done many applications across the country, and likely in your backyard already.
CAN I INSTALL A PET DOOR?
Yes, we’ve designed hundreds of rooms with pet doors. Keep in mind a window section will likely need a solid transom instead of glass below the window to install the pet door. We recommend working with an authorized dealer to source the pet door used in your sunroom. We can even incorporate your pet door to your room design so it will form, fit, and function as you intended.
WILL A SUNROOM IMPACT MY PROPERTY TAXES?
A sunroom offers a solid return on investment (ROI), increasing your property value. But if you use it as a category IV, it will be considered a non-habitable living space so the square footage will not be added to your livable area on your property assessment.
WHAT IS THE AVERAGE COST FOR A SUNROOM?
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTY COMES WITH A VINYL SUNROOM?
All our vinyl room collections come with a lifetime transferable warranty which includes glass breakage and seal failure. It’s the prestige warranty in our industry when you compare duration, companies’ years in business, and coverage included. See actual warranty for full details.
WHAT TYPE OF MAINTENANCE CAN I EXPECT?
All our vinyl rooms you can expect little to no maintenance. During spring cleaning or fall, it’s best to check any slider window’s weep holes to make sure they are free from obstructions. Vinyl components are easily cleaned with mild soap and water. Any over-the-counter glass cleaner (ammonia-free) is recommended. Please consult with our factory or your authorized dealer for a list of recommended cleaners or methods when it comes to vinyl windows, doors, glass, or screens.
Patio Door FAQS
WHAT IS A LEFT VS RIGHT OPERATING PATIO DOOR?
Our replacement or new construction vinyl patio door is always viewed from the inside-looking-out. For a two-panel configuration looking from the inside, a right operable would slide from the right to left designated as an OX. The fixed, in-operable panel would be on the left. For a left operating, everything would be the opposite from the above answer.
WHERE DO PATIO DOORS WORK BEST?
Patio doors can work in any room where a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living spaces is desired. Because of their sliding operation, they are also very useful where spaces are confined by furniture or decorations.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FRENCH DOOR AND A PATIO DOOR?
A patio door slides on adjustable brass or composite rollers while a French door is a hinged operation style swinging inward or outward.
ARE VINYL PATIO DOORS DURABLE AND ENERGY EFFICIENT?
All our patio doors have multiple vinyl chambers or pockets for rigidity and insulation. Sashes contain metal reinforcements for structural performance. We use the newest, most efficient glass coating on the market today, so you can expect a Joyce patio door to be much more efficient than a builder grade and most other replacement doors.
CAN THE PATIO DOORS HAVE A RETRACTABLE SCREEN?
Retractable screens require an open chamber for the screen to coil up into when not in use. Currently our doors are not designed to be configured from our factory.
WHAT TYPE OF GLASS IS USED ON PATIO DOORS?
All our doors come with a variety of options to meet different climate zones across the US. We offer specific glass packages meant for your area with Low-E (Low emissivity) coatings that offer enhanced thermal performance, reduce energy consumption, and improve overall comfort within your home.
CAN YOUR MODELS BE USED FOR REPLACEMENT AND NEW CONSTRUCTION?
We offer patio doors for both applications. When considering a new construction installation, both our door collections have an integrated nailing fin or a nail fin adapter. Replacements frames are often used in new construction.
ARE YOUR PATIO DOORS OFFERED IN DIFFERENT PANEL CONFIGURATIONS?
We offer door collections in 2, 3, or 4 panel configurations.
CAN I HAVE BLINDS BETWEEN THE PATIO DOORS?
Our product options constantly change or evolve with market demand. Certain size doors we do offer blinds between the panes. It’s best to consult with an authorized dealer to the latest product offerings.
CAN I GET KEYED LOCKS ON MY PATIO DOOR?
Yes. In some of our patio door collections, key exterior entry handles come standard. We can also key patio doors alike if you have multiple doors you’re replacing at once.
CAN THE ROLLERS BE ADJUSTED?
All patio door collections have adjustable rollers that can be re-adjusted after your initial install.
DO THE PATIO DOORS SLIDE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?
The operating panel is on the inside part of the frame and the fixed panel on the exterior of the frame. Screens are always on the outer most exterior part of the frame.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTY COMES WITH JOYCE PATIO DOORS?
All our patio door collections come with a lifetime transferable warranty backed by a family owned and operated company that has been in business for nearly 70 years. Homeowners at time of sale can choose a supplemental “Gold” warranty that also includes accidental glass breakage. See actual warranties for full details.
WHAT TYPE OF MAINTENANCE CAN I EXPECT?
Vinyl cleans easily with mild soap and water. Glass can be cleaned with any over the counter glass cleaner (ammonia-free). Roller tracks should be clear of debris so they can smoothly operate. Please see the maintenance section within our warranties for full details.
Screen Room FAQS
ARE SCREENS EASY TO REPLACE?
All our screen rooms have an integrated rubber or foam spline system built into our extrusion that holds the screening mesh in place. Should a screen ever rip or tear, it’s very easy to find the spline’s start/stop point, remove it from the integrated channel so the mesh can be swapped out. If the spline cannot be reused, our customer service team can assist in replacement parts or advise the size spline that is needed. Or mesh type that was used for your room.
Authorized dealers can also assist in re-screening any accidental tears. Service rates may apply.
WHAT SIZE OR STYLES ARE OFFERED?
Every room is custom to fit your house. Please contact us to get in contact with an authorized dealer who is experienced in our product specifications for a free design consultation.
DOES MY SCREEN ROOM HAVE A KICK PLACE AND CUSTOMIZED OPTIONS?
We offer floor to ceiling options with a chair rail or a horizontal support member to different custom heights. We also offer a solid vinyl Korad® panel that could take the place of a screen transom or trapezoid that can take the place of a screen opening for added privacy or limit exposure to the sun. In raised floor applications a solid vinyl Korad® panel needs to be considered for safety and compliance to building codes if your design does not plan to have a safety railing to the exterior.
CAN I INSTALL THE SCREEN ROOM MYSELF?
No, our products are only offered through an authorized dealer network who is trained to on our product specifications and installation.
CAN IT WORK UNDER AN EXISTING ROOF, DECK OR IN OTHER APPLICATIONS?
We have professional engineers on staff to calculate supporting an existing structure and it can be used in just about any new roof application.
DOES A SCREEN ROOM REQUIRE A PERMIT?
Most cities will require a permit. Essentially, you are putting up a permanent wall structure without glass where a footing foundation will likely be required.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO INSTALL THE SCREEN ROOM?
Many rooms can be installed within a day to a few days. Extensive projects can go on for 1-2 weeks.
CAN I HAVE ELECTRIC WIRED IN MY SCREEN ROOM?
In many cases the option is up to you. Since the room is not weather tight, outdoor GFCI receptacles will be required. Some building departments may require a light and switch in/out where you enter and exit the screen room to have a lighted path.
WHAT'S THE WARRANTY ON JOYCE SCREEN ROOMS?
Our screen room wall structures come with a 15 year transferable warranty, but the structural design is engineered to last a lifetime. All of our components use a electrostatic heavy duty polyester paint coating with a Krystal Kote® clear finish to prevent chalking, scratching, or fading. T-6063 extruded aluminum components are heavy gauge that will not rust, chip, corrode, or oxidize.
WHAT TYPE OF MAINTENANCE DOES A SCREEN ROOM REQUIRE?
Very minimum to none depending on your preference for up-keep. Non-abrasive cleaning rags with mild soap and water you can wipe down any aluminum components. Water hose spouts on a gentle setting will clean the screens. Or vacuums with a soft bristled nozzle can also be used.
Patio Cover FAQS
CAN MY PATIO COVER HAVE CEILING FANS, LIGHTS, OR OTHER POWER DEVICES?
Absolutely. We have dedicated electrical channels to run wiring. And on roof styles that utilize our LVL ridge beams, we v-notch the lumber on the underside of the beam to run electric for your fans, lighting, or other devices.
IS THERE A MINIMUM PITCH REQUIREMENT?
For most roof spans, we require at least a 1:12 pitch. However, if you plan to accessorize your roof with rolled roofing, asphalt or metal shingles, then you will want to follow the shingle manufacturers specifications for minimum pitch and application.
CAN I INSTALL GUTTER PROTECTION?
Yes, most gutter protection systems will work with our heavy duty extruded gutter. It’s shaped the same as a 5’’ roll form gutter seen on almost every home. But if you are not accessorizing your roof with shingles on the top exterior, it’s best to have a gutter protection system that can fasten to the top face on the gutter, then if required, at the back gutter top or onto our fascia.
DO PATIO COVERS REQUIRE PERMITS?
Most city, county, or municipals request that you obtain a building permit when constructing a permanent roof structure onto your home or business.
DO PATIO ROOFS REQUIRE FOOTINGS WHERE SUPPORT POSTS WILL BE LOCATED AT?
If the ClimateMaster® patio roof support post is at grade, yes, a cement pier, helical pier, or other proper foundation work will be required by your building department, as well as our engineering department assuring the support post doesn’t move thru different climate seasons affecting structural attachments at the house or support posts connecting the new patio cover. Patio roofs covering any existing structures like decks or porches are best advised by an authorized dealer’s design consultant, your local building department, and/or our engineering team.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL A PATIO ROOF?
It’s much quicker than the conventional wood rafter, plywood, underlayment, ice-guard, and finished exterior or interior. Some of our patio roofs can be constructed in as little as a partial day but could last a few days to a week depending on the scope of work.
CAN I WALK ON MY ROOF?
You’ll notice during installation; your installers need to stand on the roof to properly finish it. So yes, you can walk on it, but use caution that the Krystal Kote® protective clear coat can make it slippery if you don’t accessorize with roofing shingles. And your roof is designed to meet a certain snow load based on your zip code. Walking on your roof with snow is not recommended and designed as intended.
CAN I ENCLOSE MY PATIO ROOF LATER WITH YOUR SCREEN ROOM OR VINYL WALL COLLECTION?
Absolutely, but you may want to plan ahead with your design consultant to have the proper foundation work in place for when you are ready to fully enclose your patio roof.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTY DOES JOYCE OFFER FOR THEIR PATIO COVERS?
Our ClimateMaster® roof panels come with a lifetime transferable warranty. See actual warranty for full details.
WHAT TYPE OF MAINTENANCE DOES A PATIO COVER REQUIRE?
Little to no maintenance. All components clean easily with non-abrasive cleaning pads using mild soap and water. Gutters should be clear of debris to properly drain into downspout(s). All high-performance silicone applied sealants have little to no UV exposure requiring minimal or no maintenance.
